Kristin “Krissy” Mitchell McKnight, 52, passed away unexpectedly on May 22, 2025 in her home in Keller, Texas, surrounded by her loving son, Ethan, and sweet animals, Bandit and Honey.
Born in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1973, Kristin loved her family, friends, and pets. She loved crafting and collecting. She was an exceptional mother and friend. She was easygoing, accepting, and cherished by many.
Kristin was the kind of woman who never went a day without laughter. Her smile was as sweet as sunshine. She loved Hello Kitty, and the color yellow. She never missed a phone call, and was always happy to listen over a margarita at her favorite Mexican restaurant. She was creative, smart, witty, and dependable. She took initiative to excel at many things, from making candles, jewelry, scrapbooks, and knitting, to ju-jitsu, personal training, gardening, fostering, and more. Whatever she put her mind to, it would get accomplished.
She is survived by her children, Emily Montgomery, Alexis McKnight, and Ethan McKnight; her siblings, Terrilyn Eldridge of Metairie, LA, Simeon Mitchell and his wife, Tami of Sumrall, MS, and Heidi Diecedue and her husband, Joey of Baton Rouge, LA; her aunt, Gloria Hughes and uncles, John Hughes, Michael Hughes, and Rodney Mitchell; her niece, Elizabeth Mitchell; nephews, Christian Mitchell, Julien, Roman, and Adrian Diecedue, and her great-nephew, Zachary.
She joins her parents, Janet and Kenneth Mitchell.
Honoring Kristin as pallbearers will be Ethan McKnight, Simeon Mitchell, Joey Diecedue, Julien Diecedue, Roman Diecedue and John Hughes. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Adrian Diecedue.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to Saving Hope Rescue in Ft. Worth, Texas.
