A memorial service for Kevin Dwayne Cockrell, 64, will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Heritage Missionary Baptist Church, 5580 Barksdale Blvd, Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service will be Brad Darner and Cole Melton.

Kevin was born on January 21, 1960, to William Howard Cockrell and Martha Ann Cooper Cockrell in Mobile, Alabama, and passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024, in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Kevin’s passion for hunting and fishing was as boundless as his love for his friends and family. He found solace in the great outdoors and shared countless joyful moments with those closest to him. Additionally, he enjoyed following the LSU Tiger football team, adding to his list of hobbies.

One of Kevin’s proudest accomplishments was his enduring marriage to Catherine, a partnership that lasted for 30 cherished years. Together, they weathered life’s storms and built a legacy of love and strength that will endure beyond his passing. Kevin was a hardworking and dedicated family man who cherished his family deeply.

As we gather to honor Kevin’s memory, let us remember the laughter he shared, the wisdom he imparted, and the love he so generously gave. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Kevin is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Malisa Cockrell. He is survived by his loving spouse, Catherine Cockrell; daughters, Sara Oberlander and her husband, Chris, Melanie Self and her husband, Matt, Brooke Mann and her husband, Glenn; grandchildren, Wesley Roman, Luke Loftin, Ella Loftin, Ivy Self, and Sammy Mann; brother, Keenan Cockrell and his wife, Gretchen; nephews, Bo Carter and Brandon Sweeney; nieces, Paige Carter and Lauren Cockrell; first wife and friend, Linda Rocks; father, and mother-in-law, Garry and Judy Chandler; sister-in-law, Natalie Carter and husband, Matt.
