A “Celebration of Life Memorial” for Kerry M. Smith, 85, will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 465 S. Eberle Street, Waskom, Texas. Officiating the service will be Pastor Doug Lovett.

Kerry was born on October 7, 1938 in Glenmora, Louisiana to E. Clyde Smith and Amy McRight Smith and passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023 at home in Waskom, Texas.

Kerry was a resident of Waskom, Texas and worked for Ajax as an engineer and for Halliburton Resource Management where he was the Lafayette District Manager, and was the owner of Wildcat Oilfield Services. He graduated from Fair Park High School and attended college at LSU. He was married to the love of his life, Jane Ann Smith, for 67 wonderful years. Kerry loved LSU football and baseball where he always cheered on the Tigers. He was the Sergeant at Arms for the LSU Gridiron Club. His hobbies included hunting and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Machel Long; and sister, Clydell Ladner. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Jane Ann Smith; sons, Marty Smith and wife, Katy, Michael Smith and wife, Debbie; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Juanell Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express special thanks to the staff at Heart’s Way Hospice for the love and care given to Kerry and the family during this difficult time.
