Kerry Henry Krews

A memorial celebrating the life of Kerry Krews, 69, will be held at Rose-Neath South at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 9th. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Brother Mike Stowell. Kerry was born on August 27, 1952, and passed away on April 6, 2022. Kerry was born in Henderson, Texas, where he lived with his parents and brothers for a short time before moving to Shreveport. He graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1970 and married Susan Armstrong in 1976. He was a brilliant mechanic, and rarely found something that he could not fix. He spent most of his days at his shop, Keithville Tractor and Diesel, where he could be found in his signature look of a t-shirt and overalls. Though he usually had many "projects" going on at once, he never hesitated to put those aside to help someone else or to chauffeur his children to their after-school activities. Kerry was diagnosed with cancer in 1999, and while treatments might have slowed him down a bit at times, he maintained a lively spirit. He loved sneaking his kids in to ride rollercoasters when they were too short, turning tubing into a contact sport, and riding his motorcycle. He loved spending time outdoors with his family, whether that was hunting, fishing, camping, or shooting. Kerry was an active member of First Baptist Keithville Church, where he could be found almost every Wednesday and Sunday. He LOVED to read, and would often go through several books a week. He was an avid gun collector and was a part of the Ark-La-Tex Gun Collectors Association, and had a sweet tooth that was unparalleled. Kerry was known for his encouraging spirit, quick laugh, and willingness to help others. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. If you needed him, he was there. Though we are heartbroken, he died doing what he'd always done - helping someone just because he knew he could. Kerry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Elise Pollard Screws, wife, Susan Armstrong, and brother, Jimmy Screws. Kerry is survived by his three children, Elise Krews, Josh Krews and wife, Aleah, and Jake Krews. He is also survived by two brothers, Dewayne Screws and wife, Peggy, and Aaron Screws and wife, Gail, and many friends and family members that will miss him dearly.
