A mass of Christian burial for Kenneth “Kenny” Wayne Blair will be held at St. Martin Catholic Church in Lecompte, Louisiana, beginning at 11:00 a.m. on July 11, 2024. Father Craig Scott and Father Louis Sklar will be officiating.
Kenny Blair, age 54, of Alexandria, entered into eternal rest on July 6, 2024, surrounded by family. He was born in Alexandria, Louisiana, on April 15, 1970, to Robert and Patricia Blair.
Kenny married the love of his life in 1993. He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his free time. He was a private pilot and often spoke of his many adventures flying. He enjoyed gardening, science fiction and he was an avid fan of the television series, Star Trek. He also loved Barbequing and boiling crawfish. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, Knights of Columbus and an Adult Alter Server for Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Kenny was a graduate of Rapides High School and Dallas Institute of Funeral Science, where he obtained a degree in mortuary science, becoming a funeral director for 30 years. Throughout his career in the funeral industry, he was a former employee at Hixson Brothers in Alexandria, Kramer's in Alexandria and most recently, the directing manager of Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Patricia Blair; paternal grandparents; Cecil and Susan “Susie” Blair; maternal grandparents, Dr and Mrs. Brown; father-in-law, Robert “Bobby” Thiels; and aunts, Rebecca Blair Welday and Jane Blair Couvillion.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rebecca “Becky” Blair of Alexandria, Louisiana; sisters, Stephanie Blair of Willis, Texas and Brandy Gary (Gerald) of Youngsville, Louisiana; one brother, Jody Blair (Vickie) of Broussard, Louisiana, and his beloved pups, Maggie and Macey.
Active Pallbearers will be Tracy Breithaupt, Dannie Martin, Charles Hawn, Daniel Wright, Daniel Heitman, Jeff Johnson, Greg Dunn and Patrick Blalock. Honorary Pallbearers will be John VanMol, Brett Thiels, Alfred Cook, Tommy Thiels, Scott Bennett, Brandi Lemoine, Jeannie Waites, and Karen Fryoux.
A visitation will be held at St. Martin Catholic Church in Lecompte, Louisiana on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, beginning at 5:00 p.m. and lasting until 8:00 p.m. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, by Deacon Kenny Sayes. Doors will reopen Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m. and visitation will continue until time of service. Burial will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park in Pineville, Louisiana.
