A Celebration of the life of Kenneth R Prim, Sr., 83, will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at First United Methodist Church of Bossier City, 201 John Wesley Boulevard, Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on August 12, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Officiating the service will be Reverend David Dietzel.

Ken was born on April 30, 1940, to Kenneth and Clara Prim, in Olney, Texas, and passed away peacefully at his home in Bossier City, on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.

Ken graduated from C.E. Byrd High School in 1958. He later graduated with a master’s degree in marketing from Heed University. Ken served in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1967 as a radarman. Ken sold commissaries and exchanges for Warner Lamber/Pfizer Company and then moved to C. Loyd Johnson/Acosta where he retired in 2013. Ken spent 45 years associated with the Boy Scouts, serving as scout master in six different troops. He was a member of the Jr. Chamber of Commerce in Shreveport, Louisiana, Hutchinson, Kansas and Jackson, Mississippi, serving as President and Vice President of each location. Keny was raised to Master Mason in 1979 and was a member of both Joppa Lodge and W H Booth Lodge. While at Booth he served as Worshipful Master in 2005, 2019 and 2021. Ken joined the Bossier Parish Posse in 2010 and served proudly until the time of his death. He was very proud to be on the Funeral Escort Team. He was an active member of the Midyett Sunday School Bible Class at First United Methodist Church, an amazing husband, father and friend who will be greatly missed by many. We know you are now in the hands of God. May you rest in peace, Ken.

Ken was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn Francis Prim; parents; sister, Margaret Louise Priest.  Left to cherish his memory are his long-time friend and wife Mildred Foster Nickel Prim; sons, Kenneth Prim, Jr., and wife, Sarah, Robert Prim, and wife, Carmen; daughters, Suzanne Prim Lancaster; grandchildren, Kaelyn Prim and Garrett Lancaster; sister, Betty Kathryn Broussard, and his beloved dog Mia.

Serving Ken as honorary pallbearers will be the Bossier Sherriff Posse and the Funeral Escort Team.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation at Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516, or any charity of your choice that recognizes and assists Veterans.
