Funeral services for Kenneth Roger Pickett will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Arcadia, Louisiana. Brother Bob Jameson and Brother Randy Ray will officiate. Interment will follow at Hurricane Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, February 25, 2022, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia from 5 p.m.- 7:00 p.m.
Kenneth was born October 30, 1946, to Reverend L.C. and Beatrice McGee Pickett in Minden, Louisiana and passed away February 22, 2022, in Ruston, Louisiana. Kenneth worked for The Louisiana Department of Corrections as a probation officer for 34 years. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Arcadia. Kenneth loved listening to blues music, and his hobbies included airplanes, muscle cars, riding motorcycles, electronics and mowing his yard. Kenneth was a pastors son, he was a truly kind, giving Christian man and he took immense pride in being the head of the household.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Clayton Pickett. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Shari Pickett; children, Jeffrey M. Valentine and wife DeeAnn and Amy P. Hovend and husband Jeffrey; grandchildren, Alyssa Valentine, Jeffrey M. Valentine, Jr., Waylon C. Valentine and Nick Towner; brother-in-law, Gerry Abercrombie; sisters-in-law, Pat Abercrombie and Jane Pickett, and many other nieces, nephews and friends.
Honoring Kenneth as pallbearers will be Trey Casey, Jeffrey Hovend, Chip Pickett, David Pickett, Jeffrey Valentine, Jr. and Waylon Valentine. Honorary pallbearer will be Jeffrey Valentine, Sr.
