Athens - Funeral services will be held for Kenneth Brown, age 77, at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church in Athens. Rev. David Peterson, Rev. Perry Anderson, and Rev. Spencer Lovitt will officiate. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer.
Kenneth was born June 15, 1941 in Jonesville, LA to Johnie and Irma Brown. He passed away peacefully on November 22, 2018 at Ruston Rehab Hospital in Ruston, LA. Ken married Ann Prudhomme on December 23, 1960. He was a retired Production Operator with Marathon.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Johnie and Irma Brown.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 ½ years, Ann Prudhomme Brown, son Denny Brown and wife Sylvia, daughters Denise Atkins and husband Billy, Debbie Homes and husband Bubba, and Tricia Jones and husband Steven, grandchildren Justin Brown, Samantha Brown, Jennifer Hay, Mandy Meadows, Chele Atkins, Jessica Atkins, Eddie Holmes, Katie Brown, Caitlin Teves, Chloe Teves, and by 9 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Louie Brown, sisters Carma Walker and Sara Boyd, and by a host of nieces, nephews and other family.
Pallbearers will be Billy Atkins, Bubba Holmes, Steven Jones, Adam Teves, Steven Morris, and Bubba Walker.
