Kenneth Buck Benson was born February 24, 1943 in Cotton Valley, LA.   He died  suddenly  at  his  home  in  Waskom,  TX  on  February 11, 2017. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St, Shreveport, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.
There will be a pot luck luncheon at First Assembly of God Church in Waskom, TX, immediately following the service. All family and friends are invited to share memories and fellowship.
He attended North Caddo High School in Vivian, LA, Class of 1962. He began his primary career  in  1968  as  a  Union  Ironworker  at  Local  591,  Shreveport.  His  career  eventually  took  him  to  Anchorage,  Alaska, where he continued his work in Local 751 until his retirement.  His career accomplishments included: Apprenticeship Coordinator, Project Foreman and Certified Welding Inspector. He was highly regarded by many in his field.
Buck was  preceded  in  death  by  his  parents,  Oliver  and  Iva  Warden Benson and his brother in law, Don Lindsey.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Crawford Benson; and his daughters, Katrina Tippett (Dion), Kendra King (Ben); and stepson, Garrett Teames (Caroline). He was blessed with 7 grandchildren.
Kenneth is also survived by his siblings, Fay Lindsey, Raymond Benson (Rita), Nona Snyder (Greg), and Mona Mercer (Jonny). He considered his nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews to be an important part of his life.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to the Waskom Volunteer Fire  Department,  P. O. Box 1757,  Waskom,  TX 75692, (903) 687-3328. The family is profoundly grateful for the immediate response and care given to Kenneth.
