Kathryn "Kathy" Grace Dixon

A graveside service for Kathryn Grace Dixon (Kathy), 63, will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery, 8801 Mansfield Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Brother Danny Baskin.

Kathy was born on July 17, 1959 in Shreveport, Louisiana to George T. Dixon, Jr. and Gloria G. Dixon and passed away on Monday,  July 3, 2023 in Alexandria, Louisiana.

Kathy was a resident of Pineville, Louisiana. She was very accomplished in sports, especially gymnastics. Kathy participated in the Special Olympics for many years as well as the International Special Olympics in 1983 winning a gold and silver medal in tumbling and floor exercise. She loved music and dancing. Kathy was very friendly and loved talking to people and making friends. Her favorite character was Mickey Mouse.

Left to cherish her memory are her parents; brother, George M. Dixon and wife, Sally of Southlake, Texas; niece, Natalie Dixon; nephew, Bryce Rodgers; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

The family would like to express special thanks to the caring staff of Pinecrest Developmental Center for the wonderful care, compassion and love given to Kathy.

The family suggests memorials may be made to your local Special Olympics, Wesley Chapel at Lake Claiborne, Homer, Louisiana, or the charity of your choice.
