A funeral service for Karen Attaway McCart, 62, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 11, 2022 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022. Burial immediately following the service will be held at Haughton Cemetery, Haughton, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Ken Basco.
Karen was born November 28, 1959 in Mansfield, Louisiana to Lewis Edward Attaway and Florence Ella Strong Attaway and passed away on March 4, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Karen married the love of her life Ronny McCart in 1980. Together they welcomed three beautiful children. She got her Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Biology from Louisiana State University Shreveport where she then worked at Bossier Parish Community College as the Laboratory Coordinator and most recently the Business Coordinator. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, traveling with family, teaching children's church and spending most of her time with her grandchildren. Karen always had a smile on her face and had the kindest heart. She was quick to put other's needs before her own and gave the best advice. Karen is going to be greatly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-law, Mike Murray. She is survived by her husband, Ronny McCart; sons, Scott McCart and wife, Mallory, Derek McCart and wife, Lindsay; daughter, Melissa Jacobs and husband, Matt; sisters Marie Raab and husband, Brett, Donna Murray; brother, Vernon Attaway; grandchildren, Viola McCart, baby girl McCart on the way, Beaux McCart, Dixie McCart, Holden McCart, Emma Nagot, Avery Jacobs, and Harrison Jacobs along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring Karen as pallbearers will be Sam Braswell, Wayne McCart, Kevin McCart, Erik Scott, Micah Raab and Jeremiah Raab.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials may be made to St. Jude Children\'s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
