Karen René Harley

Karen René Reeves Harley was born January 5, 1959 in Shreveport, LA and went to be with the Lord on September 10, 2019. She enjoyed fishing. She had a very kind and outgoing spirit, never met a stranger, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She loved her children and grandchildren very much. Karen was preceded in death by her sisters, Pamela Daniel, Dana Harper; brother, David Reeves; father, David Reeves; and ex-husband, Bobby Holt. Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Kathleen Smith and husband Harold; daughters, Amanda Holt, Candace Holloway, and Rachael Holt; grandchildren, Lucas Stans, Bobby Tausek, Clara Tausek, and Fisher Holloway; siblings, Wendy Anderson, Brent Reeves, Daryl Reeves, Lila Noble, Laure Gooszen; and her longtime partner, Hal Smith. The family would like to give a special thanks to Calvary Baptist Church, especially Pastor Ernie's Sunday school class, and the Simple Church staff and volunteers for their support. A gathering of friends will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 13, 2019 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the funeral home. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Hal Smith, Nick Smith, Kevin Anderson, and Phillip Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The ALS Association.
