Karen René Reeves Harley was born January 5, 1959 in Shreveport, LA and went to be with the Lord on September 10, 2019. She enjoyed fishing. She had a very kind and outgoing spirit, never met a stranger, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She loved her children and grandchildren very much.
Karen was preceded in death by her sisters, Pamela Daniel, Dana Harper; brother, David Reeves; father, David Reeves; and ex-husband, Bobby Holt.
Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Kathleen Smith and husband Harold; daughters, Amanda Holt, Candace Holloway, and Rachael Holt; grandchildren, Lucas Stans, Bobby Tausek, Clara Tausek, and Fisher Holloway; siblings, Wendy Anderson, Brent Reeves, Daryl Reeves, Lila Noble, Laure Gooszen; and her longtime partner, Hal Smith.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Calvary Baptist Church, especially Pastor Ernie's Sunday school class, and the Simple Church staff and volunteers for their support.
A gathering of friends will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 13, 2019 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the funeral home.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Hal Smith, Nick Smith, Kevin Anderson, and Phillip Washington.
