Arcadia - Funeral services will be held for James Wesley (J.W.) Davis, age 90, at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia. Bro. Stephen Beard will officiate. Interment will follow at Hurricane Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 until service time on Sunday.
J.W. was born January 3, 1928, in Bienville Parish, to Leonard and Beadie Potts Davis. He passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018, in Arcadia. J.W. proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He loved to be outside. If you passed by his house, you would see him either in his yard, or sitting in his carport, and would wave when you passed. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
J.W. is preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Beadie Davis, wife Lacy Davis, daughter Shannon Bailey, and brother Roy Davis.
He is survived by his son Terry Davis and wife Betty, son-in-law Jerry Bailey, sisters Irene Chandler and Shirley Poole, brother Alford Davis, and by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Bailey, Reed Bailey, Larry Hedrick, Clint Sanders, Ricky Woods, and Steve Hollis.
