Julianne was born on December 12, 1930, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to L.T. and Eloise Adams Frey.  After a stint in Mississippi the family returned to the family business in Saline, Louisiana where Julianne spent most of her youth.  She graduated from Saline High School in 1948 and then went on to Centenary College and then Louisiana Tech where she met her future husband, George Cole.  After they married on May 5, 1951, Julianne went back to Centenary College and graduated in 1952.  After graduation Julianne went to work for Phillips Petroleum and started her family.  Julianne and George had three children, Georgia Frasier, Dr. Chris Cole and Lee Brown.  In 1960 the family  moved to Arcadia, Louisiana.  That same year Julianne’s uncle, Jimmie H. Davis, was reelected governor of Louisiana and asked her to work with him in the governor’s office.  She was honored to do so and was especially excited to attend the Democratic National Convention where she was able to see the future President and First Lady of the United States, John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy. After her stint in the Governor’s office Julianne returned to Arcadia to continue raising her family. Julianne owned Arcadia Flower and Gift Shop for many years and was very active in many community activities.  She was instrumental in saving the historic depot in Arcadia and worked with numerous charities including the American Cancer Society.  Julianne joined the First United Methodist Church in Arcadia when they moved to Arcadia and held many offices and was an active member since that time.  She  joined  PEO and was an active member for over 50 years. In her latter years, Julianne fulfilled a lifelong dream of raising horses and cows when she purchased a ranch outside of Castor, Louisiana.  She named it Serenity Ranch and spent most of her latter years living her dream.

Julianne passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at home in Arcadia.
