Julia Key Glorioso

Julia Key Glorioso was born on November 14, 1985 and passed away on July 30, 2026 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Julia is survived by her parents, Nina and Joseph Glorioso; her sisters, Dr. Sarah Glorioso and Marion Glorioso Kirby (Nathan); her nephews, Joseph and William Thrash, Michael and Christopher Kirby and her niece, Nina Catherine Kirby. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Mary and Twain Giddens and Sarah and Monty Glorioso.

Julia grew up in Shreveport where she made many lifelong friends. She graduated from Loyola College Prep and Texas A&M University. She later received a Masters degree in Counseling from LSUS. Julia taught Spanish and theology at Loyola College Prep and enjoyed coaching the softball team. She later taught English at an ESL program in Costa Rica. After moving to New Orleans, she established a private counseling practice and served as a counselor in the New Orleans public school system.

Julia had many talents. She was a natural and highly competitive athlete who excelled at basketball, softball, and tennis. She collected art and enjoyed painting. She loved to travel and enjoyed adventures in South America, Spain, Poland and elsewhere. She was an avid practitioner of yoga and recently became certified as a yoga instructor.

Julia will always be remembered for her freckles, curly hair, huge smile, and ability to connect with others. Beyond her work, travels, and commitment to healthy living, Julia was a fiercely loyal daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved her family and friends deeply and possessed a remarkable capacity for empathy. Julia’s zest for life was contagious. She radiated joy and brought warmth and light wherever she went. She had a special love for children and dogs, and her playful spirit brought comfort, laughter, and happiness to everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Julia will be deeply missed by her family, her friends, and all whose lives were enriched by her kindness, love, and joyful spirit. To honor her memory, please consider spending some quality time with an old or new friend who needs someone to listen to them.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at The Cathedral of St. John Berchman’s, 939 Jordan Street, Shreveport, LA 71101, on Friday, August 7th at 1:00p.m. with a reception to follow at the Shreveport Yacht Club, 2509 Municipal Pier Rd, Shreveport La, 71119.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial gift in Julia’s name may be sent to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, 939 Jordan Street, Shreveport, LA 71101.
