Julia Fay Hunt Allen

Julia Fay Hunt Allen, known as Judy to her friends and JuJu to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved, passed away on August 2, 2026, at the age of 76. She was born in Minden, LA, and lived in various towns in Louisiana, Arkansas, and Texas. She spent her adult life as a resident of Minden and New Orleans, LA area.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Jerry Eugene Allen.

Survived by her four children, Jeannie A. Pevy (Tracy), Jennifer A. Long (Clayton), Jessica A. Shidiskis (Daniel), and Jay H. Allen (Miranda). Fourteen wonderful grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Sister Carolyn Wiggins (Allen) and sister-in-law Janet Rush, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Two special fur babies, Nola and Luna.

Julia was the Co-owner of AL-N-Way Cleaners and a registered nurse.

Her wishes were to be cremated, having her ashes, along with her husband Jerry’s and their dogs’, spread at her favorite places: the beach, Lake House, and family farm.

A memorial service will be held on August 16, 2026, at The Venue on Pearl in Minden, LA, from 3:00-5:00 p.m.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the many physicians, facilities, and people who became family to them and their mother.
