Graveside services for Judy Kay Mears, 65, will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Park East Cemetery, 3700 St. Vincent Ave., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Rev. Kent Craft.
Judy was born on February 8, 1961 in Shreveport, Louisiana to George C. Drach (Red) and Janet Rose Drach and passed away on May 21, 2026.
Judy was a proud graduate of Woodlawn High School and spent her career working in law offices, where her dedication and strong work ethic were evident to all who knew her. She had a remarkable gift for nurturing life—able to make any plant thrive—and found great joy in gardening and sewing. More than anything, Judy made everyone feel welcome. Her home was a place of comfort, warmth, and belonging. She was a safe harbor for family and friends, offering love, support, and acceptance without judgment. To know Judy was to know kindness, and her presence made the world feel a little more like home.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, George and Janet Drach. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Eric Weiland and wife, Teresa; daughters, Miranda Jones and husband, Mike, and Abby Craft and husband, Will; grandchildren, Eric Christian II, Breanne, Madison, Makayla, Christian, and Levi.
Honoring Judy as pallbearers will be Mike Jones, Will Craft, Dusty Miller, Christian Mears, Darrel Weiland, and Cade Martin. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Christian Mears, and Levi Mears.
