Judith "Judy" Babineaux Wells

Funeral services for Judith “Judy” Babineaux Wells, 81, will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd., in Shreveport. A visitation will be held Friday, August 12, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be Reverend Mike Stowell.

Judy was born on January 27, 1941 in Ruston, Louisiana to Harry Babineaux and Martiel Ola Colvin Babineaux and passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2022 in Shreveport.

Judy graduated from Fair Park High School and Louisiana Tech College with a degree in Education. After graduation, Judy worked in the family business, Babineaux Concrete Products and then spent the rest of her career as a kindergarten teacher in Caddo Parish, where she found great joy in teaching before retiring. Judy enjoyed church and writing notes. She lived out her faith in God everyday and was a strong prayer warrior to many friends and family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and brought many years of joy to her. She loved spending time with them. She never met a stranger and enjoyed talking and laughing with all of her friends and family.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents; husband, McConathy Cecil Wells; brother, James Babineaux; sister-in-law, Peggy Werts; and brother-in-law, Ted Wells. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Jennifer Wells Schaff and husband, Allison of Shreveport and Christy Wells Paddy and husband, Robert of Shreveport; grandchildren, Wells Schaff, Caroline Paddy, and Mitchell Paddy, all of Shreveport; sisters-in-law, Barbara Babineaux of Shreveport, Billie Wilson of Toro, Louisiana; and brother-in-law, Ken Werts of Davidsonville, Maryland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honoring Judy as pallbearers will be Robert Paddy, Allison Schaff, Stacy Schaff, Brian Wilson, Jacob Wilson and David Guy. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Russell Wilson and Randy Werts.

The family would like to express special thanks to all of her family and friends who brought joy to her life.
