Funeral services for Juanita “Nita” Huffstickler, 87, will be held at Rose-Neath’s Southside Chapel on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., followed by burial at Forest Park West Cemetery. Pastor Doyce Smith will officiate. Visitation will be held at the Rose-Neath Southside Chapel for family and friends on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Nita was born in 1935 in Shreveport, Louisiana and lived her whole life in Shreveport, where she met her husband, Charles Huffstickler. She and Charles married and enjoyed 49 years together before Charles passed in 2003. They had five children, with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild to follow. She worked at Western Electric for 23 years before retiring. Nita was an avid bowler and loved playing cards and spending time with her family and friends. She also loved spending time with her church family at Oakmont. Nita never met anyone she didn’t like, and she was a great friend to many. She loved her kids fiercely and loved her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Nita was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Huffstickler; her son, Danny Huffstickler; her parents, Ross and Beatrice Clode; and son-in-law, Lynn Gordon.
She is survived by her four children, Terri Larocca (Lance), Randy Huffstickler (Dianne), Ronny Huffstickler (David), Donny Huffstickler, and daughter-in-law Christy Huffstickler; 11 grandchildren: Chad (Stephanie), Dana (Beau), Drew (Meagan), Paige (Brandon), Kirby, Tyler (Sam), Megan (Chase), Corley (Mikayla), Matthew, Maria (Kris), and Miranda; sisters-in-law: Opal, Bobbie, and Mitzi (Bruce); 16 great-grandchildren: Ally (Seth), Aubrey, Cade, Riley, Briley, Beckett, Wyatt, Collins, Paxton, Briggs, Ridge, Brooks, Claire, Hayes, Weslee, Brooks, and two more coming soon; and one great-great-grandchild, Evelynn.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Chad, Drew, Tyler, Corley, Matthew, Beau, and Brandon.
The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Randy del Mundo, Superior Hospice Team and Elara Home Health for their compassion and special care of Mom.
