Juanita Lindsay, 99, a loving mother, grandmother, great- and great-great grandmother passed away at her residence in Shreveport on Monday, January 25, 2021. Visitation will be held at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, January 31, 2021.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 1, 2021 at Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating will be Brother David Rice, Pastor of Brookwood Baptist Church and Brother John Harp, Associate Pastor of Brookwood Baptist Church where she was a member. Juanita loved the Lord and taught children through Sunday School and VBS for many years.
Mrs. Lindsay was born on November 17, 1921 in Camden, Arkansas to William Robert and Daisy Hunter. In 1938, she married her childhood sweetheart, Arthur I. Lindsay. They were married 63 years until his death in 2002.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, parents, son, John Lindsay, Sr. and wife Linda, grandson, Jerry Lindsay and great-grandson, Brade Lindsay.
Survivors include her two sons, William Robert Lindsay and wife, Ruth of Glen Elder, KS and Gary Lindsay, Sr. and wife, Genelle of Shreveport, LA. Juanita said, "My sons blessed me by marrying women I love and think of as daughters." She is also survived by six grandchildren, Deron Lindsay and wife Paula of Grenada, MS, Tina Senger and husband, John of Glen Elder, KS, Randy Lindsay of Manhattan, KS, John Lindsay, Jr. of Shreveport, LA, Gary Lindsay Jr. and wife, Stephanie of Shreveport, LA, Cory Lindsay and wife, Mistie of Shreveport, LA; 15 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Deron Lindsay, Tina and John Senger, Randy Lindsay, Gary Lindsay, Jr. and Cory Lindsay.
