Joyce Anne Smith

A graveside service for Joyce Anne Lewis Smith, 81, will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Driskill Cemetery, Arcadia, Bienville Parish, Louisiana. Officiating will be Pastor Megan Twyman. Joyce was born May 15, 1940 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Howard Charles Lewis and Eleanor Gordon Lewis and passed away February 6, 2022 in Bossier City, Louisiana. Joyce attended the University of Oklahoma, where she was a part of Tri Delta Sorority. She joined the Peace Corps and taught English in the 1960's serving in the South Pacific. She was a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church in Shreveport and loved singing in their choir. Many people would describe Joyce as sweet, a kind spirit and loved by all who knew her. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Samuel Clifford Smith; sister, Norma Jean Paris. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Louisiana Methodist Childrens Home, 904 DeVille Lane, Ruston, Louisiana 71270.
