Joy Faye Harbert

Joy Harbert departed this life on Saturday, September 29, 2018. Joy was born January 21, 1936 in Holdenville, OK to C.S. and Atta Bell. Joy was happily married for 58 years to Joe Harbert. She had three sons (Jeff and his wife Roxie, Jay and his wife Suzanne, and Andy and his wife Lorie), two grandsons (Ryan and his wife Amy, and Joey), and one granddaughter (Jenna). Joy enjoyed trips to the mountains in Albert Pike, AR, and Branson, MO. She enjoyed southern gospel songs (especially Karen Peck). Her lifelong job was being a wife, mother, and grandmother, and she relished every minute of that job. She loved her old friends faithfully and never stopped being a friend; she even made and cherished many new friends during the last years of her life at The Oaks Senior Living. She will be desperately missed by all who knew her, but welcomed by many in the home she looked forward to all of her life. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2018 at Rose-Neath Southside. Graveside services will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery with Rev. Joe Huffman officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Carson's fund, c/o Southern Hills Church of Christ, 9080 Southwood Dr. Shreveport, LA 71118.
