Joshua Kyle Woods

Joshua Kyle Woods, 43, of Minden, La passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully on May 25, 2026. Joshua was born on August 25, 1982, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Karl Wayne and Cynthia Reno Woods. Joshua dedicated much of his life to coaching high school football, but for him, football was never just a game — it was a way of life. Whether he was drawing up plays on a napkin, pacing the sidelines on a chilly Friday night, or passionately shouting at the television during Sunday football, he was truly in his element. His love for the game was contagious, and the impact he made reached far beyond the field. He treated every player like family, mentoring and encouraging them both as athletes and as young men. His legacy will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched. As fiercely as Joshua loved football, he loved his family even more. He was his children’s biggest supporter and his love for his grandsons was unmatched. Being their Pop-Pop was a role he carried with immense pride and endless love. Time spent with family was where he found his greatest joy. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wayne Lamar Woods, Joseph Will and Gloria Jean Reno, and his uncle, Michael Keith Reno. What a beautiful reunion this must have been, as these were three of the people Joshua held closest to his heart. Joshua leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Hayley Owen Woods; his children, Loren Franks, Mary Ashton Franks, and Josh Sebald; and his three precious grandsons, Brooks, Ryland, and baby Lawson. He is also lovingly remembered by his parents, Karl and Cynthia Woods; his sister, Kara Woods; and his nephew, Landon, bonus niece and nephews, Addie, Larkyn, and Layton, whom he loved dearly, Grandmother, Ann Smart, Aunts, Pamela Nelson, Sherry and husband Chris Bagwell, uncle Ronald Woods and wife Bunny, along with great aunt Jackie DuPont, Ruby Powell, Mickey Reynolds, great uncle Barry File, Mother-in-law Tammy Frye and husband Joey, Father-in-law David Owen and wife Christi, numerous cousins and countless players, coaches, and friends who will miss him dearly. Joshua, you may have blown your final whistle, and your time on this earthly field is over, but the lessons you taught, the love you gave, and the memories made with you will remain in our hearts forever. You fought a great fight, you finished the race, and you ran the perfect play. Now take your well-deserved rest. We love you, and you will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved you.
