On Friday, March 27, 2020, we lost a treasure, our "Baby Brother", Joseph Vincent Lowrey. Joe was born June 26, 1949, to Genevieve Pizzo Lowrey in Shreveport, Louisiana. He lived most of his life in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Joe graduated from Jesuit High School in 1968 where he was on the championship team at Jesuit High School and the All-City Football Team in 1967. He work for many years at both Ark-la-Gas Company and AT&T.
Joe's life was not easy but he was a strong and happy man. He was a most tenderhearted person who was very compassionate and caring. He enjoyed swimming in the river with his brother, Phil and good friend, Glenn, playing softball, fishing and smoking cigarettes. Joe was a faithful son, brother, altar boy, paper boy and friend.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother and great-aunt and uncle, Mary and Joe Rizzo.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Lowrey Morgan and husband, Robert; brother, Jerry Phillip Lowrey; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Morgan, John Morgan and wife, Katy, Joanna Huckabee and husband, Justin, Jeanette Buckley and husband, Clint, Paul Lowrey and wife, Amy, Carl Lowrey and Jason Lowrey and great-nieces and nephews, Julia, Betsy, Mary, Anna, Nathan, Matthew, Genevieve, Britton, Brennon, Draiden, Amrey, Aubrey, Lilly, Jayden and Aceon.
Joe's family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Manor and Dr. Saucier for their loving care of their brother over the past years. They would also like to thank his roommate, Steve Randle, all his friends, and his love, Mallory. Joe loved each of you and wanted to help everyone, especially with treats.
A private graveside will be held with Reverend Fidel Mondragon of Christ the King Catholic Church officiating the service. A memorial for Joe will be arranged at a later date.
