Joseph "Lovie" D. Sepulvado

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Joseph “Lovie” D. Sepulvado, 82, will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 307 Hammond St., Zwolle, Louisiana. An inurnment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Garvin will officiate the service.

Joseph was born on September 28, 1943, in Zwolle, Louisiana, to Virgil Sepulvado and Bertha (Dottie) Pettegrew, and passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Joseph honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era, carrying out his duties with quiet strength and unwavering dedication. After completing his military service, he began a long career in the trucking industry, where he worked faithfully until his retirement. His work ethic, reliability, and steady presence were well known to everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him.

He was deeply loved by his nieces and nephews, who affectionately called him “Uncle Lovie,” a name that reflected the special bond he shared with each of them. Joseph was a devout Catholic and a faithful member of the Cathedral of St. John Berchmans and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zwolle, Louisiana, where his commitment to his faith was evident in the way he lived his life. His gentle spirit, devotion, and kindness will be remembered by all who knew him.

Joseph was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Sepulvado; mother, Bertha (Dottie) Pettigrew; sisters, Lois Jean Griffin and Margie Quarles; and brother, Douglas Sepulvado. Left to cherish his memory are sisters, Shirley Merendino of Shreveport, LA, Lucille Sepulvado of Many, LA, Sue Ann Chaudoin of Zwolle, LA, and Kay Davis and husband, Jerry of Benton, LA; brothers, Allen (Buck) Sepulvado and wife, Virginia of Bossier City, LA, and Kerry (Clutch) Sepulvado and wife, Rama Jean of Zwolle, LA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the VA medical staff on 7W floor and Willis Knighton Pierrmont for the excellent, compassionate care our brother received. Special thanks are given to Dr. Veliz and the ICU staff.
