Joseph François Lattier passed from this life to the next on November 8, 2018 at the age of 84. Joe was born on February 23, 1934 in Shreveport, LA and lived here his entire life. He graduated from St. John\'s High School in 1952 and soon after, he married Betty Williams Lattier, his wife of 56 years. Joe served in the Army where he learned his trade of diesel mechanics and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He enjoyed a long career as a diesel mechanic, during which time he worked offshore in the Gulf of Mexico, Brazil, and the North Sea. For over 30 years, he was an active Ark-La-Tex beekeeper. He loved to fish, laugh with his family (especially with his grandchildren), play his guitar and sing, but most of all, he loved the Lord.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife; his father, Joseph Henry Lattier; his mother, Beadie Small Lattier; and two sisters. He is survived by a son, Michael Lattier and his wife, Michelle, of Kingsport, TN; daughter, Christie McBride and her husband, Eugene, of Shreveport, LA; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his brother Phillip Lattier and his wife, Martine; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr. in Shreveport from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 10, 2018. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 3:00 p.m. with the graveside service to be held thereafter at Forest Park Cemetery. Pallbearers are Drew Lattier, Blake Lattier, Marty Arthur, Joseph Pool, Jonathan Rush, and Tom Owens.
