Joseph "David" George Richard

A Memorial Service Celebrating the life of Joseph “David” George Richard, will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service will be Brother Harrell Shelton.

David was born on August 4, 1955, in Ville Platte, Louisiana, to Joseph Richard and Gladys Richard and went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 26, 2022.

David loved and worked at crawfishing and painting. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and never met a stranger. His family will miss his laugh and jokes. “Till we all meet again, Fly High Brother.”

David is preceded in death by both parents; step-father, Leo Vasseur; brothers, Gerald Robin, Melvin Richard, George Richard; sister, Joann Waggener; brothers-in-law, Wilma Waggner, Nerril Fontenot, and Kelly Williamson. Left to cherish his memories are his sisters, Barbara Godeaux and husband, Chuck, Diane Williamson, Audrey Fontenot, Linda Wells and husband, Biff, Jeannie Verret and husband, Milton, and Michelle Toney and husband, Ronnie; sister-in-law, Linda Robin; and several nieces and nephews.

“God looked around his garden- And found an empty place, He then looked down upon the earth- And saw your tired face. He put his arms around you -And lifted you to rest. God’s garden must be beautiful -He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering -He knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never – Get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough – And the hills were hard to climb. So he closed your weary eyelids – And whispered, ‘Peace be thine’. It broke our hearts to lose you – But you didn’t go alone, For part of us went with you – The day God called you home.”
