A "Celebration of Life" Memorial Service will be held for Jonathon Corey Rusch, 50, Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana. Jon was born on October 31, 1971 to Dale and Shirley Rusch in Fremont, California and passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 in Dallas, Texas. Jon was a resident of Shreveport and worked in the trucking industry his entire life. He was a paratrooper with the United States Army and stayed in the Reserves upon completion of his stint in the military. He loved to ride bicycles, build rockets, and was a gun collector who enjoyed target practice. His favorite things were Legos and Hot Wheels during childhood which he continued to collect into adulthood. Left to cherish his memory is his partner and best friend, Courtney Rachal; and sons, Bryce, Dennis and Collin; parents, Dale and Shirley Rusch; sisters, Allison Hanson-Rusch and husband, Jeremy and niece, Sophia; Amanda Rusch and husband, Scott; grandmother, Irene Rusch; and uncle, Cliff Rusch and wife, Ada. The family would like to express special thanks to Baylor Heart and Vascular Hospital, Baylor University Medical Center and Dr. Amarinder Bindra for all the excellent care and compassion given to our family during Jon's illness. The family would also like to express special thanks to Allen Leach for the support and friendship he gave to Jon. Also, a very special thank you to Courtney Rachal, for the care and love she gave to Jon. She never left his side. The beautiful memories they shared together will hopefully bring her comfort and peace in the coming days. The family suggests memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
