Funeral services for Johnny Ray Sandifer, 87, will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the start of the service. Officiating the service will be Pastor Charles Burris.
Johnny was born October 23, 1938 in Robeline, Louisiana to J.B. and Joyce Sandifer and passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2026 in Texas.
Johnny was a dedicated truck driver for many years. After retiring from trucking with one company, he began a new chapter driving a truck for the United States Postal Service. He had a passion for working on cars and took pride in painting and restoring them. He also enjoyed buying old trucks, bringing them back to life, and selling them. In his free time, Johnny loved cooking, camping, and cheering on his beloved New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers football teams. He also enjoyed watching westerns and, in his earlier years, bowling. Above all else, Johnny loved his family with all his heart, and they were the greatest joy of his life.
Johnny is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Sandifer; his daughter, Patricia Blake; parents, Joe B. and Joyce Sandifer; siblings, Glenn Sandifer and wife, Beverly, Harrell Sandifer, Doris Forrest and husband, Johnny.
Left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Debbie Lewis and husband, John, Donna Turley and husband, Herbert; sister, Wanda Kay McVicar; grandchildren, Korey Wallace and wife, Ingrid, Christopher Lewis and wife, Jessica, Cody Lewis and wife, Magen, Jay Wallace and wife, Charlie, Travis Blake, and Hazel Lawrence; and 10 great-grandchildren, Logan, Morgan, Isabel, Kalvin, Knox, Trinity, Jayden, Leon, Alayna, and Penny.
Honoring Johnny as pallbearers will be Korey Wallace, Christopher Lewis, Jay Wallace, Cody Wallace, Travis Blake, and Logan Lewis.
