Johnny C. Golden

Johnny Calvin Golden, age 68, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 24, 2021, surrounded by his wife, sons, sister, and brother. Johnny was born on March 3, 1953 in Converse, LA, to Doris and Cliff Golden, both of whom preceded him in death. Also preceding him was his brother, Larry Golden and sister, Cindy Stoker. Johnny was one in a million, truly the last of a dying breed. He was tough but he had a soft, caring and comforting side for those he loved. Johnny was a family man who adored his wife, Sandra Melton Golden; two sons, Zach Golden and Justin Golden; and his daughter-in-law, Leah. His love for his grandsons though was a special love and his face would light up when Fox or Jett was there or even when he would talk about them. He was always a hard worker. A better carpenter could not be found, and his work was always done with precision and care. Johnny was a rock and loyal beyond words to his brothers and sisters with whom he shared a bond and closeness that has never wavered. Also left to treasure his memory are his brother, Roger Golden and wife, Mary; his sister, Leslie Zacheis; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. Honoring him as pallbearers will be John Waters, Jerry Heidecker, Tim Melton, Kerry Harper, Adam Parisy and Brandon Horsley. A funeral service honoring the life of Johnny C. Golden will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Evan Semanco of The Simple Church. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, July 27, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Interment will immediately follow the service at Cassel Cemetery in Converse, Louisiana which will be officiated by Brother Charles W. Clark of Henrietta Congregational Methodist Church.
