Johnny Ray Francis

Johnny Ray Francis of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away on July 4, 2026, at the age of 87. Though he had been in declining health over the past few weeks, he was still able to drive and live independently, which was very important to him. He was lovingly cared for by his family and friends, even until the end of his life.

Johnny loved sports, and even as a young man, was known as a natural athlete, excelling in sports of all kinds. He still loved watching sports – especially college football. Throughout most of his adult life, he was also an avid golfer.

Johnny also loved traditional, Southern Gospel music, often going to concerts with friends. He also loved his family with all of his heart.

Many are remembering him as a man who always seemed to have a smile on his face, who loved to laugh, and had a jovial demeaner. He is also remembered as a kind and generous man, always quick to give of his resources if he knew of someone in need.
