Johnny R. Forrest

Funeral services for Johnny Forrest, 82, will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 22, 2019 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor C.L. Bourn. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the funeral home. Johnny was born on August 15, 1936 to Claudie Brister Forrest and Helen Catherine Tacker Forrest in Gahagan, Louisiana and passed away peacefully after a short illness on February 15, 2019. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 60 years, Doris Sandifer Forrest; baby boy, Raymond; brothers, Clovie Forrest and Bobby Lamar Forrest and in-laws, Glen and Beverly Sandifer. Left to cherish his memories are sisters, Shirley Jeffers and Rebecca Jean Thompson; brother, Francis Joe Forrest and wife Alice; in-laws, Wanda Kay McVicker, her children and grandchildren; Johnny Ray and Carolyn (Virgie) Sandifer, and Harold Sandifer. Honoring Johnny as pallbearers will be Daniel Bourn, Joseph Bourn, Nathan Bourn, Brian Boggs, Andrew Hamm and Bill Hamm. Special thanks to Johnny's home health nurse, Susan Russell, for all of her time, patience and care.
