Funeral services honoring the life of Johnny Ray Briggs will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Reverend Wayne Jones. A visitation with the family will be held on Friday, January 24, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Mansfield Chapel. Interment will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Stanley, Louisiana.
Johnny was born on August 28, 1975 in Carthage, Texas to Jackie and Marion Briggs. He entered into rest on January 17, 2020 in Joaquin, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Willard and Minnie Lewis.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 9 years, Tonya Briggs; son, Colby Harper of Frierson, LA; daughters, Destini and Mara Lee Briggs of Logansport, LA and Anna Waters of Frierson, LA; grandchildren, Levi & Hadley of Frierson, LA; brother, Jackie Briggs and wife Callie of Joaquin, TX; sister, Juanita Briggs of Huntsville, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Honoring Johnny as pallbearers will be Jackie Briggs, Colby Harper, Tim Dickerson, Slick King, William Gamble, Keith Hillman, Clyde Lusk, Ryan Jones, Duncan Ray Duncan, Stevie Holloway, Eric Wheless, Mike O'Brien, Jody Covington, Ashton Franklin and Quinton Prudhome.
Johnny was always well taken care of by his "River Mom" Mandy Johnson Duncan. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father/daddy and Poppa J. He was an avid hunter and fishermen. He loved the outdoors and riding the Sabine River. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was a welder all his life and worked in many different places. He made many friends far and wide.
