A funeral service for Johnnie Hall Wilkins, Jr., 83, will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City. Interment will follow at Bellevue Cemetery in Bellevue, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Adam Miller.

Johnnie was born on December 3, 1942, to Johnnie H. Wilkins, Sr., and Mary E. Wilkins in Bossier City, Louisiana, and passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026, in Bossier City, Louisiana.

If you were to walk into a room and say the name “Johnnie Wilkins,” there’s a good chance someone would smile and bring up the time he drove a ten-penny nail into a bar top with his bare hand, and that’s all it would take for the stories to start flowing—it’s stories like this that will be told for years to come.

With a presence that filled a room, Johnnie was well known, highly respected, and had a way of leaving an impression, one that people didn’t forget.

He was loved by many and will be missed beyond words. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will live on in the lives he touched and the hearts of all who knew him.

Johnnie is preceded in death by his parents, John Hall & Mary Wilkins; his brothers, Steve and Billy Joe Wilkins; his daughters, Lisa Wilkins and Cindy Wilkins McVey; and his second wife, Kathy Wilkins.

He is survived by his son, Johnnie (Bubba) Wilkins III; his daughters, Debbie Peters and husband, Zach and Beth Bennett & husband, Dallas; his grandchildren, Terra Morgan and husband, Creg, Justin Wilkins and wife, Emily, Toni Werner and husband, Jeremy, Joshua Wilkins and wife, Niki, Dalton Richardson, Kaygen Vines and husband, William, Emilee Peters, Michael Richardson, Dillon Bennett and wife, Kami, Emily Bennett, and Lacy Peters; and his great-grandchildren, Taylor Morgan, Cheyenne and Lilian Wilkins, Roy & Evan Werner, Wyatt, Rhett and Landry Wilkins, Andrea Hewitt, Elena, Colmer and Sophia Vines, Angela, Luke, Vanessa Taylor, Layla Richardson, and Berkleigh Bennett.

Honoring Johnnie as pallbearers will be Hunter Downs, Tim Kennedy, Leighton Becker, Patrick Hastings, Steve Barnette, and Nathan Barnett.
