Graveside services honoring the life of Johnnie Norman Craig, 83, of Converse, Louisiana will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 located at Noble Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Bro. Jimmy Price and Bro. Clinton Alford. There will be a viewing prior to the graveside service. Johnnie was born October 5, 1937 to Luther Otto Craig and Ethelyn Fleming Craig. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 12, 2020 at home surrounded by his family.
Johnnie retired from Beaird Industries after 38 years. Following retirement, he served as a member of the Belmont Water Board. He was a lifelong member of Midway Baptist Church in Converse. Johnnie was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the outdoors and cherished family gatherings, but his favorite pastime was spent on Toledo Bend fishing with his wife, Oneta.
Johnnie is preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Joe and Tillman Craig, grandson, Christopher Luke Craig, and great-grandson, Reed Sistrunk.
He is survived by his sister, Linda Jagneaux, daughters, Karin Williams(Danny) and Karla Sistrunk(Donnie), sons, Kerwin(Debra) and Kenneth (Pam) Craig. He was blessed with 10 grandchildren, Julie Wray (Chris), Jennifer Friday(Andy), Jodie Kezerle(Matt), Michael Craig(Tiffany), Samantha Lemmons(Heath), Aaron Sistrunk(Jessica), Russell Sistrunk, Tyler and Kaylie Craig. Left to cherish his memory are the surviving family, 10 great-grandchildren, Bailey, Madison, Abby, Ellie, Marshall, Peyton, Brent, Sawyer, Sylas, and Landon, as well as, a host of nieces and nephews.
Honoring Johnnie as pallbearers will be his grandsons. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Johnnie's long time friends, Glen Sepulvado, Donnie Sebren, Carson Watkins, Guffy Pattison, Brose Hayes, Loy Nichols, and nephew, Clint Craig.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis TN in honor of his granddaughter, Kaylie.
