Sunday, our world lost a treasure. Tommy Lyles went to Heaven and reunited with his beloved, Omega, the only love of his life. He was born on February 28, 1933 to Lorene (Lawrence) and Clarence L. Lyles, and died October 24 , 2021 in Arcadia, Louisiana.
Tommy was a member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church and a graduate of Gibsland High School. Mount Lebanon, Louisiana, was home for his entire life except for the four years he served in the US Air Force during the Korean War (1951-1955). Stationed in the Philippine Islands, he was a radio operator.
He retired as an engineer on the L&NW Rail Road about 30 years ago. Tommy was also a proud land owner and cattleman. He loved his cows, and they loved him, coming when their name was called. Tommy and Omega loved to hunt and fish. His death ends the lineage for his branch of the Lyles family.
Tommy was a good man, a loyal and honest man, a working man, a wise man, a story-telling man, and a loved man who will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Omega C. Lyles, his parents, two sisters, Eloise L. Hammons (Henry) and Clotile L. McCoy (Henry), and one brother, C.L. (Pete) Lyles (Elizabeth), and nephew, Henry L. McCoy.
Surviving him are nieces, Carolyn M. Fuller (Timothy) and Patricia K. White, nephews, Mike King (Susan), and Steve Lyles, great-nieces and nephews are Josh Kidd (Megan) and their children, Laila, Jordan, and Kinsley, Jamie Kidd, Melanie F. Peacock (Barrow) and their children Russell, William and Henry, Dr. John Fuller (Arzoo), Lyle H McCoy (Jennifer) and their children Bella and Lanny, Erin McCoy Kyle, and Asa P. McCoy. A host of friends and neighbors, including life-long friends, Tammy and Ronny Karriker and Lisa and Steve Stroud, mourn him. Special memories of him will also be held by Angie, Jessie, and Lexi.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 26, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia, Louisiana. Graveside services will be at Mount Lebanon Cemetery Tuesday October 26, 2021 at 2 p.m. with Reverend John Campbell officiating.

The family expresses grateful thanks for his "angel" neighbor, Kim Rigdon and Willow Ridge Nursing Home. Along with Premier Hospice, they have made this sad time so much easier. We are eternally grateful for their loving comfort and compassion.
The family suggests memorials may be made to Mount Lebanon Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
