John William Taylor

Our hearts are broken as we announce the passing of John William Taylor, age 25, of Panola County, Texas, on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. John was born on February 26, 2000, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to John and Brandy Taylor.

John was full of life, laughter and love. He spent the last three and a half years living in Panola County, where he built a beautiful life surrounded by family and friends. For eight years, he worked in the oil field, a job he took great pride in, especially because most of those years were spent working side by side with his dad.

More than anything, John was a devoted daddy to his daughter, Mavis Taylor, his “Princess.” She was his whole world, and there was nothing he loved more than being her dad. Whether they were painting each other’s nails, playing, or simply spending time together, their bond was pure and unshakeable.

John is survived by his parents, John and Brandy Taylor; his brother, Dakota Taylor, and wife, Jade, and their son, Abel; his “Ole Lady,” Shelby Lindsey; his daughter, Mavis Taylor; his grandparents, Mike “Pepaw” Audleman and Jenienne; Connie and Chris “Mamaw and Papaw Chris” Davis; his aunt and uncle, Melissa and Michael Schaumburg; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who love him deeply.

He didn’t get to go often, but he loved duck hunting and spending time outdoors. John had a big heart, a contagious smile, and a sense of humor that could light up any room. He was the best daddy, son, brother, and friend anyone could ask for.

John will be remembered for his love, his laughter, and the way he made everyone feel like family. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him, especially his precious princess, Mavis.
