John E. Swartout

A funeral service honoring the life of John Edward Swartout will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Rose-Neath Bossier Chapel, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation with the family will be held Friday, March 20, 2020 at the Rose-Neath Bossier Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Reverend Darryl Miller will be officiating the service. Interment will immediately follow the service in Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Spur, Bossier City, Louisiana. John E. Swartout was born October 7, 1941 in Elmira, New York to Floyd and Jane Swartout and passed away peacefully Thursday, March 12, 2020 in Bossier City, Louisiana. John was retired from the United States Airforce and worked in finance at Barksdale Federal Credit Union. He enjoyed fishing and the great outdoors. He could be found spending time with his Bossier Parrish Sheriff Posse. He was outgoing, trust-worthy, funny, a good friend and a great husband. He was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Wilmer Faye Own Swartout; daughter, Cynthia Peterson; sons, Craig Swartout and wife, Tammy and Eric Swartout and wife, Amanda; grandchildren, Sarah, Blake, Shae and Madelyn and great-grandchildren Riley and Hailey. Honoring John as pallbearers will be Bubba Deal, Phillip Honeycut, John Lee, John Bayton, Jason Nance and Mike Avary.
