John Steven Rutledge

A Celebration of Life for John Steven Rutledge, 72, will be held 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. Steve was born June 26, 1949 in Springhill, Louisiana to Dr. Joseph Edwin Rutledge and Dorothy Hook Rutledge. He passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021 in Bossier City, Louisiana. Steve graduated from Springhill High School in Springhill, Louisiana, as Lumberjacks class of 1967. He was married to his wife of 49 years, Melissa Graves Rutledge. Steve served in the United States Air Force for four years. He worked as an operator at Calumet Refinery for 39 years. Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was always described as a very generous person and always the life of the party. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife. Steve is survived by his son, Joe Rutledge and wife, Marissa; daughter, Leslie Fletcher; sister, Dixie Wolfe; five grandkids, three great-grandkids and best friend, Ranger, his lap dog.
