Funeral services for John Phillip Green, 72, will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens North Cemetery in Blanchard, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Tuesday, August 10, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Pastor Chester Coffman.
John was born on July 22, 1949 to Edward and Yvonne Green in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 in Shreveport.
John was a workaholic all the way around. He was a carpenter by trade and worked very hard at work as well as at home. He loved working on his tractors, mowing the grass and building cabinets in his shop among other things. He was always in motion. He joined the Army National Guard in 1968 and served for six years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Yvonne Green; brother, Ronald Green and wife, Margaret Green. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Melissa Green, Barbara Hughes and husband, Tim; son, Phillip Green and wife, Michelle Green; granddaughters, Emily Hughes, Sarah Whitlock, Taylor Traylor, Hannah Chandler and Tricia Nelson; grandsons, Tyler Scogin and Kane Chandler; great-grandchildren, Layla, Avery, Audrey, Ellis, Christian, Aubree, London, Bria, Hayden and Blaklyn; and ex-wife, Susie Green Tate.
The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Broadwell and the staff of Willis-Knighton North for the wonderful care and compassion given to John and Willis-Knighton Hospice for their help and care given to John.
Honoring John as pallbearers will be Michael Whitlock, Tyler Scogin, Kane Chandler, Eric Cato, Jared Fuller and Jake Fuller.
John was a very special man. He will be forever missed by his entire family.
