Services to rejoice the life of John T. Nash, Sr., 69, will be held at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel on 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 16, 2018. Officiating will be Rev. Randy Johnson, Pastor of Countryside Baptist Church. Graveside services will follow at Provencal Cemetery in Provencal, LA at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jim Freeman, Pastor of Provencal Free Methodist Church, presiding. Visitation will be at Rose-Neath Southside from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 15, 2018.
John passed away on November 13, 2018 and is now in his eternal home with his Lord and Savior. He was born to Joseph (Bud) and Annie Mae Banes Nash on January 16, 1949 in Provencal, LA. John was preceded in death by both parents; five sisters, Verla Mae Nash Mitchell, Audrey Nash Goins, Vivian Marjorie Nash, Martha Elam Nash, and Alvie Marie Nash Corley; and two brothers, Joseph Evestus Nash and Gerald Wayne Nash.
John is survived by one son, J.T. (Tommy) Nash, Jr.; one daughter, LaTisha (Tish) Ann Nash Knotts and husband Kyle; three grandsons, Bradley, Caleb, and Devyn Fulghum; two brothers, James Alvin Nash and wife Ginger and William David (W.D.) Nash; and one sister, Margie Ann Nash Morgan. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jarrod Morgan, Bradley Fulghum, Caleb Fulghum, Jeremy Fulghum, James Hutchinson, and Bryan Rowe. Honorary pallbearers will be Karey Lemley, Joe Nash, Kyle Knotts, and Devyn Fulghum.
The family wishes to extend their most heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Willis-Knighton Cancer Center and Amedysis Hospice for the loving care that John received during his battle with cancer and his last few months on this earth. The family request, in lieu of flowers, that monetary donations be made to John's daughter, LaTisha Knotts, to assist with expenses.
