John "Johnny" Mills

John “Johnny” Henry Mills, age 72, was born March 30, 1954, in Monroe, LA, to John and Melvis Wynn Mills. He entered into rest on April 13, 2026, in Homer, LA. Johnny loved God and his fellowman. He always remembered to stay in touch with friends and family. Hunting and fishing were his favorite pastimes. He was very close to his pets. His name at one time was “Catfish,” because he loved fishing so much. Johnny was very close to his family and cherished them. He really enjoyed trading stories with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Diane Burns Mills; sister and brother-in-law, Katherine Ann Ward and Manuel Lee Ward; brother, DeWayne Mills; and sister-in-law, Barbara Lynn Mills;

He is survived by his wife, Betty Gathright Mills; sister, Tammie McCann and husband Gary of Ruston, LA; a niece, April Fox and husband O’Neil; three nephews, Ragan McCann and wife Jamie, Steven Ward and wife Penny, and Michael Ward and wife Yvette; numerous grandnieces and grandnephews; a great-grandniece; along with other relatives and friends.

Johnny’s family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Cliff Salmon for the care and compassion shown him over the years.
