Funeral services for John William List, Jr. will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 9891 Texas Hwy, Many, Louisiana with a visitation taking place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be Brother Matt Warren and K.D. Calais.
John was born on March 1, 1933 to John List and Gertrude Holland List in Dover, New Jersey and passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026 in Many, Louisiana at 93 years old.
John served as Cadre member of the US Army and served as an engineer with the B co 845th engineers. Following his military service, he served in the Army Corps of Engineers. He worked with Frank Moore and Roger Wilson in the oilfield for 20+ years. He also served as a volunteer Twin Island Fire and Rescue for 40+ years and volunteered with Many Police Dept during this time also. He served as president of the Toledo Bend Lions Club and board member of Lions Children’s Camp in Anacoco, Louisiana. He was a board member at the Louisiana Lions Eye foundation in New Orleans and a lifetime member of Melvin Jones Fellow through the Lions Club. He worked for RC Cola for several years and Big Star Garden Dept for 4+ years.
John loved his wife and family so much. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, watching football and wrestling, and working on things. But more than anything he loved spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids. John also liked to watch westerns with his dogs and cats. John was a dedicated member of Siloam Baptist Church.
John is survived by his wife of 39 years, Patricia (Patsy) List; son, James (Bobbie) List and wife, Carol; children, Truman Dees and wife, Missy, and Marsha Weaver and husband, Chuck; grandchildren, Austin Scaife and wife, Samantha (my sweetheart), Rachel Brown and husband, CJ, DeNee’ Cranford and husband, Roger, Christopher Dees and wife, Kiara, Lauren Remedies and husband, Jon Blake, and Elijah List; great-grandchildren, Avanna Scaife (Vannie), Tucker Grable, Dailee Scaife, AJ Scaife, Bobby Day (Chunk), Kenzy Day, Gunnar Hippler, Gauge Mary, Peyton Mary, Wesley Cranford, Skylar Dees, Tony Matthews, and Bradley Matthews.
He is proceeded in death by his son, Charles (Charlie) List; daughter, Evelyn List; parents, John and Gertrude List; in-laws, Annie Katherine Wyble and Joe Wyble; and great-grandson, Ethan Day.
Services and care were provided to the family by Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Many, Louisiana.
