John Paul (JP) Lee III, our beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, was called to eternal life on May 17, 2025.
A Funeral Mass celebrating JP’s life will be held at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, 204 Patton Ave, Shreveport, LA 71105 on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Internment follows immediately at Rose-Neath Cemetery on 5185 Swan Lake Spur, Bossier City, LA 71011.
JP was born on April 26, 1995, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to John P. Lee Jr. and Heidi Aubin Lee. JP graduated from Captain Shreve High School in Shreveport, Louisiana, in 2012. In high school, JP was on the Honor Roll and nominated Student of the Nine-Weeks in Fall 2011. From an early age, he displayed a curiosity and aptitude for the sciences. JP completed the Engineering Preparatory Magnet Program at Captain Shreve High School. During this time, he also worked nights and weekends for Mr. Munir Semhan, owner of Fix My PC in Shreveport, as a technician, troubleshooting and fixing customers’ personal computers. He used this time to increase his understanding and gain experience of the complexities and challenges of the electronic and digital environments.
JP graduated on May 19, 2018, from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with a Concentration in Cyber Security.
After graduation, JP worked for five years at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, as a Software analyst monitoring the simulators and implementing the software upgrades necessary to keep the B-52 Bomber aircrews trained, proficient, and combat-ready.
In 2025, looking for new opportunities in the multi-dimensional world of electronic technologies, JP entered the highly competitive selection process for a position at Lockheed Martin, a company whose highly sensitive business demands recruiting the strongest candidates in their respective fields. In March in Huntsville, Alabama, JP began working as a software project manager at the Lockheed Martin Courtland facility, which is leading the way on hypersonic technologies.
JP deeply loved his family, friends, and country. Although quiet, JP had a dry and sharp sense of humor, often accompanied by his engaging smile. He had the type of personality that made friends for life. JP loved multiplayer video games and was considered by friends to be a video games expert, photography, refurbishing consoles, programming, collecting lighters, collecting badges for attending concerts, and listening to music. He loved to travel about the country to different concert venues and to visit his extended family – from California to Arizona to Colorado to Utah to New Hampshire to Virginia. JP celebrated Mardi Gras and was a member of the Green Float on the Krewe of Centaur. He was a member of St. Mary of the Visitation Catholic Church in Huntsville, Alabama.
JP is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Colonel John (Jack) Lee and wife, Kathleen (Kay) Lee; his maternal grandparents, Mr. Glen Cage and wife, Edna June Cage. He is survived by his parents, John Lee, Jr., and wife, Elaine Lee of Denver, Colorado; mother, Ms. Heidi Aubin Lee of Shreveport, Louisiana; brother, Mr. Isaiah Lee, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Following the burial, the family would like to extend an invitation to a Celebration of JP’s Life with family, friends, good food, live band, and many photos of JP’s wonderful life that we were blessed to be a part of. Family and friends will be notified of the location where this celebration takes place.
