John "Jack" William Norman, Sr.

A graveside service for John “Jack” William Norman, Sr., 84, will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Spur, Bossier City, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana.  Officiating the service will be Deacon Steve Lehr.

Jack was born on September 1, 1937, in Jacksonville, Florida to Ralph Thomas Norman, Sr. and Marie Genevieve McEnany Norman and passed away July 16, 2022.

Jack graduated from St. Matthew High School, he attended Northeast Louisiana State College (now ULM) and served six months of active duty in Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and six years with the Army National Guard. He worked for Louisiana Power & Light for seven years before joining the Monroe Police Department where he retired in 1991 as Head of the Juvenile Department with 22 years of service. After moving to Shreveport, Louisiana, he went to work as security at LSU-MC.  He loved watching sports, especially the Boston Red Sox baseball team and was an avid, high-average bowler. He especially loved watching all his grandkids play and perform in all their activities.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ralph Thomas Norman, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Via Norman; three children, Sherri L. Norman, Debbie N. Harris and husband, Jimmy, John “Jackie” W. Norman Jr.; sister, JoAnn Stratton and husband, Ronald; three brothers, Richard Norman and wife, Mary Ann, Pat Norman and wife, Kay, and David Norman and wife, Linda; five grandchildren who were the joy of his life,  Jimmy “Bo” Harris III, Kalyn Harris, Hunter Harris, Chelsea Norman, Grace Norman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honoring Jack as pallbearers will be Jimmy “Bo” Harris III, Hunter Harris, Jimmy Harris, Bruce Gilley, John Williams, and Kevin Goodwin.
