Funeral services for John Horrace McGraw, 85, will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Riverpark Church, 3232 E. 70th St., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd. in Shreveport. A visitation will be held Friday, September 24, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Officiating the service will be Pastor Marcus Briggs and Brother Jim Gstohl. John was born on March 22, 1936 in Fryeburg, Louisiana to Elzy Dee McGraw and Eula M. McGraw and passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at his residence in Bossier City, Louisiana. John retired from General Motors. He loved his family and spending time with them at every opportunity. He enjoyed visiting with people, wise cracking and gardening. His all-time favorite hobby was fishing. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed by his family and everyone that knew him. John is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, R.W. McGraw and wife, Billie Jean, and Edwina Reynolds. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 62 years, Patsy McGraw; children, Todd McGraw, Tonya Hashieder and husband, David; grandchildren, Andrew D. Hashieder, Devan T. Hashieder; brother-in-law, Harvey Reynolds; several nieces and nephews; and best friend, Jerry Hudson. Honoring John as pallbearers will be Todd McGraw, David Hashieder, Andrew Hashieder, Devan Hashieder, Ronnie McGraw, Ricky McGraw, James Johnson, and Greg Winget. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Hudson, John Hartley, and Tim Reynolds. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice (especially Brandi Peterson, Brother Jim Gstohl and Betty John Tuminello) and also Elite Health Care Services (LaToyia Wilson, Kimula Samuels, Christie Moore and Mary Bryant) for the wonderful care given all these years.
