Funeral services for John Edward Lafitte, 50, will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Carmel Cemetery in Carmel, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 14, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Brother Roger Morton, pastor of Barron Road Baptist Church. John was born on January 10, 1971 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Albert Edward Lafitte and Evelyn Joyce Carpenter Lafitte and passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 10, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. John was an avid outdoorsman. Hunting and fishing were his two favorite hobbies. He was strong in his faith in the Lord and loved his family very much! He started his own business, Lafitte's Tree Specialist at 18-years-old and has been a very successful arborist for 32 years. John is preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Joyce Lafitte. Left to cherish his memory is his father, Albert Edward Lafitte; the love of his life, Nancy Carol Jaggers; sons, John Andrew Lafitte and Justin Lafitte; daughters, Brittany Lafitte, Cody Barton, Crystal and husband, Daniel LaCour and Hannah Baker; brother, Richard Lafitte; sister, Sherry Rice and husband, Derek Jones; niece, Ashley Rice; and 12 grandchildren. Honoring John as pallbearers will be Steven Thorton, Daniel LaCour, Timothy Butler, Mark Howe, Chris Lafitte, Tracy Sirman, Jerry Barnette and Brian Smith. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Justin Lafitte. Danny Lafitte and Richard Lafitte.
