Funeral services for John Edward Kautz, 78, will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Landmark Baptist Church, 1595 Hwy. 171 in Stonewall, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Mitchell Cemetery in Anacoco, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Monday, September 6, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Jerrell Head.
Sr. Master Sergeant John Edward Kautz was born February 24, 1943 and passed away at his home in Stonewall, Louisiana on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at the age of 78. He was born in Tampa, Florida. He retired from the Air Force after 22 years of service. He then retired from Irby after 21 years of employment. He was also Associate Pastor for Seniors at Landmark Baptist Church. He loved preaching the word of God. He loved his family and loved being a grandfather. We will miss him so much!
John is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Mary Kautz; and brother, David. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 39 years, Shelby Kautz; daughters, Andrea Smith of Georgia and JoAnn Barnes and husband, Cliff, of Shreveport; son, Obie Galey and Wife, Maylette, of Stonewall, Louisiana; grandchildren, Cade Galey, Megan McComic, Morgan Dickerson, Deliane and JoJo Smith; great-grandchildren, Dalton and Rylan Temple and Chloe Dickerson.
Honoring John as pallbearers will be Obie Galey, Cliff Barnes, Kevin Haymon, Gene Haymon, Danny Gilcrease and BJ Rannekleiv. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Chloe Dickerson, Dalton and Rylan Temple and Cade Galey.
The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Robert Martin, Dr. Larry Flake and Dr. Joyce Feagin for years of excellent care.
