  Memorial services honoring the life of John (Johnny) Ryan Cates Jr. will be 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Old Pisgah Baptist Church with Reverend Dean Johnson officiating & Brother Leon Manshack assisting. Burial will follow in the Zion's Rest Cemetery in Wallace, LA. Mr. John Ryan Cates Jr. was born on June 13, 1954 in McAllen, Texas to John Ryan Cates Sr. and Maggie Melvina Davis Cates. He entered into rest on September 21, 2018 at the age of 64. Preceding him in death are his parents & his brother Freddie Stutts. He is survived by his spouse Carolyn Cates of Many, LA; daughters, Stacy Seaman & husband Waylon Seaman of Marthaville, LA, Sarah Cates & fiancé Niarcos Martinez of Natchitoches, LA; Sister, Nancy Howie of Shreveport, LA; Sister -in Law Diane Stutts; Step-Daughters, Gwen Simmons & husband Bobby of Robeline, LA, Deanna Hilliard & husband Kyle of Marthaville, LA, Nina McCoy & husband David of Daingerfield, TX; Step-son Byron McCormic of Many, LA; & Grandchildren Aliyah & Madison Martinez & 15 Step-Grandchildren. Pallbearers honoring Mr. John Ryan Cates Jr. are Randy Hilliard, Bubba Baxter, Ted Allen, Butch Rains & Ivy Jones.
