A bright light in this world dimmed very briefly in the early morning hours of Monday, June 3, 2024, only to begin to shine more than ever, as he entered the pearly gates of heaven, and immediately took note of the need for MORE flowers around the gates and started digging. Our precious son, brother, husband and friend, John Baylor Boyd will be missed deeply, but we know that he is able to breathe without any difficulty now, as complications of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension took him from this earthly life.
Baylor was born on March 1, 1973, in Shreveport and lived life to the fullest. He attended Loyola College Prep, Springhill College, Mobile, AL, and USL, Lafayette, LA. He was preceded in death by his father, James Davis Boyd, M.D.; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Davis Boyd and Mr. and Mrs. James Curtis Stevens; uncle, William Michael Boyd; aunt, Sara Stevens Cameron, and uncle, Sydney Algernon Cameron, Jr. and father-in-law, Anthony Tuminello. He is survived by his husband, Daryl Bennett Tuminello; mother, Laura Earley Stevens Boyd; sister, Leslie Earley Boyd Wilemon, and husband, Joel Craig Wilemon; nephews; James Craig Wilemon, and bonus nephew, Noah Alexander Wilemon-Crumpley; mother-in-law, Linda Louise Tuminello; brother and sister-in law, Mark and Lecie Tuminello, and their son, Cole; sister-in-law, Maria Tuminello and her son, Carl Layton, Jr. as well as many other cousins and family members.
What else can be said of this “people magnet”, as one person described him? A LOT! He never met a stranger, and he endeared himself to ALL, and the minute anyone asked about him, a big sparkling smile would cross his or her face! He was our very own “Steve Martin”, and the tears of laughter shed, as he got on a roll, could not be contained. Oh, our BB, we will miss you every second of every day, but we know that you are with the Lord, and are very BUSY brightening up our loved ones who beat you there, and were welcomed with open arms.
